Record Number of Tourists Visit St Lucia in 2017
Love St Lucia? Well, you’re certainly not the only one!
Last year St Lucia’s tourism industry achieved several records.
According to statistics released by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), our beautiful island welcomed a record 1,105,541 visitors in 2017.
With visitor arrivals to St Lucia surging by 11% last year, the island also achieved the highest visitor arrivals’ growth rate in the Caribbean.
According to the CTO, stay-over arrivals rose to 386,127 while cruise arrivals increaed 14% to reach 669,217.
“The tourism industry continues to be an incredibly important and vital part of the Saint Lucian economy. We are happy with the levels of growth witnessed and as we continue our marketing efforts, we as well look to maximizing the impact of tourism on our economy,” commented Dominic Fedee, St Lucia’s Minister of Tourism Information & Broadcasting.
